3 Things You Should Expect When Moving To Brainerd

Slow Paced And Plentiful Lakes

The first thing you can expect is a much slower pace. If you’re moving from a big city—whether that’s Chicago, the Twin Cities, Rochester, or Duluth—Brainerd has a really nice feel. You’ll find a much slower pace than the hustle and bustle of living in a concrete jungle. 

The second thing you’re going to notice is all the lakes. Brainerd is known for having hundreds—if not thousands—of lakes. Minnesota is the State of 10,000 Lakes, and we think half of them are right here in the Brainerd Lakes area. Whether you’re looking for a big lake like Gull Lake, a big chain like the Whitefish chain, or smaller lakes like Perch or Gilbert, Brainerd has it. 

Here in Brainerd, you’ll find lakes of all sizes with all types of water. So whether you enjoy jet skiing, fishing, or kayaking, there’s something to offer everybody as far as lakeshore right here in the Brainerd Lakes area. 

Amenities

The third thing you can expect is really great shopping, great medical options, and great restaurants. Even though Brainerd is a fairly small town compared to Minneapolis, Duluth, Fargo, and some of the bigger cities here in the Midwest, we have some fabulous shopping. You’ll find Costco, Target, and all the big stores here in Brainerd Lakes.

Additionally, there are also some great mom-and-pop restaurants in the area that are different than the big chains. People love these local eateries for their good quality meals and unexpected menus. Lastly, we have fabulous medical facilities. 

Whether you’re going to go to Brainerd Essentia, Crosby Hospital, or Staples Hospital, we have some of the best doctors that have picked the Brainerd Lakes area as their preferred destination to raise their families. We have some of the best physicians right here in a small town like Brainerd.
