Are you thinking of moving to or visiting Brainerd Lakes but aren’t sure what there is to do there? In this episode of Brainerd Redefined, I’m going to talk about the five must-see places you have to check out when coming to visit the Brainerd Lakes area. We’ll take a tour of lake spots, coffee shops, and more so you know exactly what there is to do here.
Boats And Brews
The first place I recommend to every single person that comes to visit the Brainerd Lakes area is Gull Lake. This lake is one of the most popular lakes in the entire state of Minnesota and is known for its great recreation, fantastic fishing, and fabulous restaurants.
The second place that you must visit is a Loco Espress, a coffee shop located in the NP Center. Mary and her team have some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted, a fabulous atmosphere, and incredible employees that make you feel right at home.
Downtown Nisswa
Once you visited Gull Lake and grabbed a cup of coffee, the third thing you have to do is go and visit downtown Nisswa. They have incredible shops and fantastic restaurants with that great small-town feel.
All the businesses are locally owned and operated, and I promise you can spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars there on a great day of shopping. Some of my personal favorites would be Zaiser’s for great shoes, Rafferty’s for fabulous pizza, and my kids’ favorite: The Chocolate Ox candy store and ice cream shop.
Relaxing On The Lake
The fourth suggestion I have for all my clients, friends, and family that are coming to the Brainerd Lakes area is to stay or visit at least one of these two resorts. The first is Madden’s On Gull Lake, one of the top resorts in central Minnesota—if not in all of the state. The other resort is Grand View Lodge, which features incredible restaurants, great facilities, and an indoor pool. The kids will have a lot of fun and memories will be made.
The fifth and final place you have to visit when coming to the Brainerd Lakes area isn’t one specific place; it’s one of our world-famous golf courses. Just to name a few of the Brainerd Lakes area’s incredible golf courses, you can visit The Classic, The Legacy, or The Preserve.
Whether you’re a scratch golfer or 20 handicap, I promise you’ll have an incredible afternoon seeing all that the Brainerd Lakes area has to offer and enjoying some of the best golf courses in central Minnesota.
