In this video, I’m going to take you along to our annual Customer Appreciation Event as we say thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. We’ll hear from some past clients and watch as Mentalist Jym Elders dazzles our audience with his awesome magic show.
A Magical Evening
We’ve been hosting our annual Customer Appreciation Event for the past eight years. It’s how we say thank you to our clients, friends, and family for their continued support and business. This year, we’re excited to have world-famous mental magician Jym Elders in the house all the way from Chicago, Illinois. Who doesn’t love magic, right?
Jym’s Mentalism show is a fun experience that he takes all across the country, primarily performing at corporate events, colleges, and trade shows. Jym says the key to mentalism is a good background in psychology and being a student of life. He’s had more jobs in his lifetime than you could think of in very diverse fields; this well-rounded background, combined with lots of traveling and meeting all sorts of different people, is what gives him his magical capabilities. Having a good memory helps, too.
Clients, Family, And Friends
Before the show began, we made the rounds and talked to some of our attendees. Everyone was excited to see Jym Elders’ performance and all had different connections to our team. Some were family and friends, and others had bought or sold a house with us. There were also plenty of little ones with their parents that were excited to be entertained.
One of our past clients in attendance had bought a house with us about a year ago. She enjoyed the smooth process and was happy to get to know our team very well. She had a good time with us and enjoyed the easy communication process.
It was exciting to finally host this event after two years of postponement. Of course, I couldn’t have done it without my team. Their dedication is second to none, and they’re an inspiration for myself and my family. People contact us to buy or sell a home, and my team is in the office often until 10:00 at night and back in at 8:00 in the morning, 7 days a week. I appreciate all their hard work.
Meet Jym Elders
Jym Elders is an expert on the paranormal. His unique style of mentalism has taken him all across the country—from New York to Las Vegas—and includes several appearances on radio, podcasts, and television. His peers refer to him as the Crown Prince of the Mystic World, and he was going to show us some of his skills. Without further ado, all the way from Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Jym elders
Many people haven’t heard of mentalism, but Jym’s wanted to see if he could get into our heads a little bit. Of course, he had no plans to bring anybody on stage and have them run around in their underwear like an old-fashioned hypnotist. The show opened up with Jym directing the audience to do some breathing exercises and mental imagery—and then it was time for the fun to begin.
Our audience was wowed by card tricks, and Jym demonstrated his magical knowledge of people he had never met before. He shared his mental pictures with participants, read objects, and use his psychology background to gather information that astounded everyone. By reading body cues and tone of voice, Jym was able to successfully place 5 objects with their owners without knowing beforehand who they belonged to.
Knowing The Numbers
For the next part of the show, Jym ventured out into our audience to further demonstrate his mentalist knowledge. He asked one woman her name and had her pick a random number. Handing her a business card that he had written on the morning of the show, she saw that it had her name and the very number she picked out at that moment.
Next, he picked a married couple to get on stage and had them choose a book. The wife randomly chose a page in the book while Jym turned his back, and they chose a word from the page. Mentally projecting the word on an imaginary movie screen in their minds, Jym then used the concept of a deprivation chamber to heighten his own senses and reveal the information.
He did the same with a variety of people in the audience while blindfolded, somehow knowing everything from cell phone numbers and future plans to childhood teachers and favorite football teams. Using the help of candlelight and ghosts in one segment of the show also allowed Jym to know information it should have been impossible for him to know.
The Grand Finale
Jym closed the show by using the audience to help him create an imaginary story, based on him going to the drive-in movies with a date. Picking people randomly from the attendees, Jym had the audience choose the date’s name, the movie, the car, the candy they were eating, and the number of stars in the sky.
Inviting two women to the stage, Jym had one of the women write down all the choices they had made for the story. Taking out his wallet—that had been wrapped with rubber bands several times—Jym reveals a sealed, stapled envelope tucked inside. He invites one of the women to open the envelope, revealing a small paper that Jym had written that morning.
It said: “The time is at 8:16 am and I just woke up from a dream. I dream that I was at the drive-in movie with a very nice young lady whose name happened to be Sarah. We were in her car, which was a cool ‘95 Grand Prix. She seemed upset that I didn’t talk to her much during the movie; it was because I hadn’t seen The Big Lebowski in a long time.
“During the break, I went to the snack shop to buy candy. She specifically wanted Twix, but when I came back she was gone. So I just sat back and counted stars. I counted exactly 75,210.” Every one of the choices had been made by the audience! Is it possible that Jym could have predicted something, or did he just plant the seed just by looking at the people and wishing them to think of a special thing?
The Encore
While this amazing feat would typically be the end of his show, Jym had one last amazing mentalist feat to share. He asked for one assistant with very good eyesight and presented her with a phonebook. Instructing her to open it to a random page, the audience gave instructions on how many pages to turn and which column to look at. This way, it was sure there was no way the show was planned.
Stopping at a random place, Jym wrote down the number. With thousands of numbers in a phone book, he had written down that exact number before the show had ever started.
An Amazing Night
Jym Elders put on an amazing show for all of our clients, family, and friends. Everyone was impressed with his magical knowledge, and so many were amazed at what he was able to know. Someone even asked him a personal question after the show, and Jym gave her an answer she’s hoping is right. She plans to watch for the future to see what will happen.
We are so thankful for our friends, family, and clients for their continued support and business and repeat business—including all the referrals they send our way. Without them, we could not do what we do. Our client appreciation party was a great way to start off 2022 with a bang.
